The logo for Uptown Bikes, a women-owned bike shop on Chicago's north side, needed to unite disparate existing logos. After identifying each of these, I proofed wood type specimens closely resembling the existing logo typefaces. Working with the shop staff, we chose a slab-serif, slightly condensed typeface. Paired with an abstracted bicycle wheel, the logo reflects the community-centered, approachable, and welcoming shop.
Hand drawn logotype for Fata Morgana Press, an experimental print shop on Chicago's south side. The name was taken from a mirage seen on the Straits of Messina. The logotype combines angled lines and geometric shapes to create letterforms built out of intersecting planes and points.

Motoactv was a fitness watch created by Motorola. The logotype sketches examine how letterforms can influence the consumer's perception of the product.
Initial sketches reflected the rectangular form factor while conveying the speed and dynamism the device promotes. The updated device
had a more refined and rounded form factor. As a result, the logotype is more delicate and sophisticated.
